The Fort Frances Youth Justice Program held a workshop entitled Communities Working Together on March 21st and 22nd. Representatives from Youth Justice Committees in Armstrong, Nipigon, Atikokan, Kenora and Fort Frances were in attendance, along with members of the OPP, Treaty Three Police and the United Native Friendship Centre.
They heard presentations from Crown Attorney Robert “Buster” Young, Vice-Principle Brian Love of the Fort Frances High School, Peggy Loyie and Steve Latimer of the United Native Friendship Centre, Heather Campbell and Kathy Thomson of the Ministry of the Attorney General, Sgt. Steve Loshaw and Cst. Doug Irish of the OPP and Sean Ward a volunteer Facilitator. In all over thirty people attended the two day event. The second day was spent identifying common problems and trying to develop solutions.
