Bordered by beautiful shorelines on two sides -- Lake Huron to the west and Georgian Bay to the north, the two counties of Grey and Bruce are also bordered to the south and east with Simcoe, Dufferin, Wellington and Huron Counties.
The southern reaches of Bruce and Grey lie two hours north of Toronto. Driving distance from the tip of the Bruce Peninsula (Bruce County’s northernmost point) to the outskirts of the Greater Toronto area is approximately 4 ½ to 5 hours.
Combined, Bruce and Grey Counties cover approximately 8,700 square kilometers of geography which is predominantly rural in nature. Given their vast size and relatively small population (combined at just under 153,000) it is estimated that these counties house 17.5 people per square kilometer.

Consequently, 50% of the residents of Bruce and Grey reside in communities with populations of less than 1000—in small rural hamlets or on farmland, where some distance separates homes. Also included in this population are two First Nations communities (the Saugeen Band and the Chippewas of Nawash) and several moderately sized Mennonite communities.
Each county houses a wealth of distinctive settings, with their own vivid histories and natural beauty.
