Aboriginal Community Resources
Aboriginal Legal Services of Toronto
seeks to strengthen the capacity of the Aboriginal community
and its citizens to deal with justice issues and provide
Aboriginal-controlled and culturally-based justice alternatives.
The
National Aboriginal Health Organization is an Aboriginal
designed and controlled body intended to influence and advance
the health and well-being of Aboriginal Peoples. Its principles
include a mandate to gather, create, interpret, disseminate,
and use knowledge on Aboriginal traditional and western contemporary
healing and wellness approaches.

The
Ontario Federation of Indian Friendship Centres (OFIFC) is
a provincial Aboriginal organization representing twenty-seven
member Friendship Centres located in towns and cities throughout
the province. The OFIFC administers programs delivered by
local Friendship Centres in areas such as health, justice,
family support, and employment and training.

The
Aboriginal Youth Network is a cross-Canada network connecting
Aboriginal youth. It is operated totally for and by Aboriginal
youth. The network gets the word out about health, education
and employment opportunities for Aboriginal youth, as well
as news and events. They also profile youth, or invite them
to tell their stories in their own words.
